Cheektowaga Soccer Club Hosts Chevy Cup 2

The best CSC tournament to date

On June 12-13, 2004, the Cheektowaga Soccer Club, in conjunction with the New York State West Youth Soccer Association (NYSWYSA), hosted the Chevy Cup 2 a soccer tournament for Travel Club soccer teams from western NYS and the vicinity.
On June 12-13, 2004, the Cheektowaga Soccer Club, in conjunction with the New York State West Youth Soccer Association (NYSWYSA), hosted the Chevy Cup 2 a soccer tournament for Travel Club soccer teams from western NYS and the vicinity. An impressive number of teams (97) gathered at the West Seneca Soccer Complex this years tournament site a terrific turnout, according to Tournament Director Al Longo, whose quote "the best CSC tournament to date!" speaks for itself. 82 teams competed for tournament titles in both Boys and Girls divisions in age groups ranging from U12 to U19. Moreover, 15 teams competed in a festival dedicated to the U10 and younger age groups.

Weather was beautiful and enthusiasm was high for the first competitive-level Chevy Cup in a number of years. Many thanks to all the volunteers of the Cheektowaga Soccer Club and the West Seneca Soccer Complex. Special thanks to Director Al Longo for stepping up to host the Chevy event. Besides the winners trophies, all winning teams received a NYSWYSA patch in honor of the event. All 15 teams in the U10 and younger age groups received a US Youth Soccer medal of Stickley, also supplied by the NYSWYSA. On July 10-11-12, the Canandaigua Select/Recreational Chevy Cup 2004 will take place. The tournament will be hosted by the Canandaigua Area Soccer League, Inc.
