The $20.00 fee for teams playing in a league at a commercial facility
At the April 18, 2004 New York State West Youth Soccer Board of Directors meeting in Corning, NY, the Board voted to eliminate the $20.00 fee for teams playing in an indoor league at a commercial indoor facility. This action will take effect September 1, 2004 as a result of the vote.
The fee has been charged for many years as a result of the higher insurance risk factor and loss experience associated with indoor play, as reported by NYSWYSAs insurance carrier. Boards, walls and confined spaces tend to result in more injuries and loss payments. Having reviewed recent loss ratios, their overall impact on all players insurance costs, and the fee charged to NYSWYSA Clubs, the Board decided it was time to eliminate that charge.
