National Soccer Hall of Fame seeking New President-COO


ONEONTA, N.Y. (January 23, 2007) – The National Soccer Hall of Fame located in Oneonta, N.Y., is seeking a new President and Chief Operating Officer to provide vision, leadership and management in further developing the NSHOF into a prominent, well-financed national sports museum. The NSHOF is a 501 C3 not-for-profit organization.

The successful candidate will lead the NSHOF in financial matters including fundraising, financial planning and management; public relations and marketing, including developing relationships with relevant leaders and organizations in the public and private sectors; guiding marketing and media strategies and increasing the national profile of the NSHOF. Responsibilities will also include development and implementation of a business plan, organizational development, management of operations and staff and the development and implementation of operational policies to include application of Internet technologies to the museum experience.

The successful candidate will possess strong written and verbal communications skills, a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate, and an open management style.  Background will include relevant experience in marketing, leadership and management, planning and budgeting, working with a volunteer board and developing and implementing cost-effective management and administrative strategies.

Preferred qualifications include experience in managing a small or medium-size non-profit organization, fundraising, networking, and a familiarity with the leadership of American soccer.

Located in Oneonta, N.Y. (www.oneonta.ny.us) the 40,000 square-foot museum (www.soccerhall.org) opened in 1999.  It has seven fulltime staff and an annual operating budget of approximately $1,000,000. The NSHOF is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
