25th-Anniversary Coaches’ Workshop, Annual General Meeting and Awards Dinner
Nov. 16 & 17, 2007
Total Sports Experience and RIT Inn & Conference Center
 
The best that New York West has to offer will be on display in Rochester the weekend of Nov. 16-17, as the area’s top coaches, administrators and vendors come together for the 25th-Anniversary Coaches’ Workshop, Annual General Meeting and Awards Dinner . As befits a 25th-anniversary celebration, New York West has pulled out all the stops for this year’s event. Highlights will include:
 
 
A Special Topics Session with Manchester City Academy coach Mark Edwards
Fri., Nov. 16 — 6:30 p.m. (refreshments), 7-9 p.m. (session), RIT Inn & Conference Center
 This can’t-miss event will provide coaches, players and parents alike the opportunity to learn from and speak with one of the top youth coaches in the world! Now the U14 coach at Manchester City, Edwards spent 12 years as the U15 Academy coach at Manchester United, training future professional stars for the world’s premier club. The event, held Fri., Nov. 16 at the RIT Conference Center, will begin with refreshments at 6:30 p.m. (Click here for more information)
 
 
2nd-Annual Doug May 3v3 Festival
Sat., Nov. 17 — 9.00 a.m., Total Sports Experience
This free tournament for U10 boys and girls will feature separate boys’ and girls’ divisions, with co-ed teams placed into the boys’ division. There is a limit to the number of teams that can participate, so entries will be accepted on a "first come, first served" basis, so check with Sandy Ostebo at sandyostebonyw@stny.rr.com. or call 607-368-8456) to see if there are still openings. Coaches’ Workshop Field Sessions
Sat., Nov. 17 — 9 a.m.-3:45 p.m., Total Sports Experience
Clinicaians Mark Edwards, Tony Waiters, Paul Halford, Glen Buckley and Maureen Dracup will conduct field sessions on Finishing Games, Integrating the Goalkeeper, Defending is Fun, Transition to Attack, and Competitive Games. Vendor Show
Sat., Nov. 17 — 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Total Sports Experience
Parents – take advantage of the best prices of the year at the area’s largest soccer vendor show, taking place at Total Sports Experience from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.! Coaches and administrators, too, will have a fantastic opportunity to network with the area’s leading soccer exhibitors, as well as fellow coaches and soccer enthusiasts. Annual General Meeting
Sat., Nov. 17 — 4 p.m., RIT Inn & Conference Center
Members in attendance will vote to fill the offices of President, 2nd VP and Secretary and discuss important initiatives facing NYW in the coming year. A special proposal for a Small-Sided Goal Grant Program will be discussed and voted on. For more information on this proposal click here. Announced candidates are: Michael Radecke (President), Matt Dimas (2nd VP) and Curt Regruit (Secretary).

State Intermediate Certification Course
Sat., Nov. 17 — 8-10:30 a.m. and Sun., Nov. 18 - 8:00-11:30 a.m., Total Sports Experience
Taught by NYW Director of Coaching Glen Buckley, this course will focus on small-sided games, specifically preparing to Play 7v7, 8v8 and 9v9.
